Means I need some new ones, anyone suggest some sturdy boots, good enough for the show ring yet kind on the pocket....?

Thanks!

The other day I was going through my pile of numnahs and saddlecloths and found that the blighters had munched their way through my real wool half pad :( which was right in the middle of a pile of about 10 others! They'd totally ignored the rest!

Just wondering if this may be moths rather than mice?

Arrgh :( I totally feel your pain!!!! Same thing happened to me yesterday, I went to get bens travel boots and rug to use on Tilly the new mare coming to stay and there were loads of droppings in the box, and my pads for his legs were munched through! Out of the four, two had holes in :(. I love mice, but this was too much, and I felt a teeny bit happier when I found the mouse dead in the tack box  I then took a look at the other areas of the tack room.... Eurgh, more droppings! We need a huge clear out!!! I have to say, I've not looked in my box since last summer, but something needs doing now.

Sorry, but that made me laugh. I do feel your pain, though. I lost a very sentimental scarf this way (it was my football scarf from age 14, so about 20 years old at the time and like new). Looks like rat damage to me. The teeth marks are quite big.

They like Thermatex's too. :(

Yes - l found that out last year when l'd gone to fetch it out of our rug room was devastated as l'd spent awhile saving up for it & had originally bought it for my old pony. Now l always put them away at home to store once cleaned ready for when its next needed. Thing is they don't seen to chew the stuff you're not bothered about!!!

Couple of years ago I got my long warm muckboots out of the garage and put them on in a hurry. I shoved my feet in and something went squish. Mr Mouse was asleep in my boot and I squished him  I felt really bad but I discovered he'd chewed a hole through the heel to get in so I was angry with him at the same time!!

Ariat, they are pricey though but worth it or you could always but a boot bag and have them hanging up out the road to avoid it no matter which make of boots you choose? :)

Last spring While tidying up my garden shed where I store much of my horse gear, and Pony Club teaching stuff I startled a very fat, shiny mouse residing in a box of travel boots. Then I found out why he looked so well, the cheeky little thing had eaten all the Linseed samples.

One winter I'm sure I had a mouse in residence in my car, I'd find droppings but no mouse. My car TBH was a mobile feed room and she must have sneaked in while I was loading up.
