The hunters are shown with the 2 stripes as its workmen like, some riding horses have the 2 strips with little squares in the stripes as they are slightly flashier and hacks have the elaborate checks as they are ment to be flashy.

It all comes down to the overall picture and like she says, quarter marks and used to either hide or emphasise the back end so the right quarter marks make all the difference

It's about as silly as the whole other forcing yourself into a woolly jacket and tight trousers and twisting unruly bits of plaited mane into tiny little balls to be judged on something you're supposedly doing for fun

I saw a post earlier on a thread of mine with THE most awesome clipper work to the horses quarters...there were lion king characters...logos. names....absolutely brilliant...I better email the person now & warn them incase the quarter mark police creep up on them in the dead of night! den den deeeeeeer
