Ok so there are lots of horses who stand quietly to be clipped.

There are lots of horses who stand quietly with a rope just looped through a tie ring to have their faces and ears clipped.

But how many horses would stand quietly with a rope just looped through a tie ring to have their faces and ears clipped whilst not fifteen feet away someone was making a new gate, involving circular saws, hammering and a disc cutter cutting through steel?

Given I've owned the horse for just over two weeks so all his surroundings are new to him I think that's a remarkably well behaved beastie!

aww thats great.
What type of horse is he?
My TB ex racer is like this didnt move a foot when being clipped face ears everything but i think he may have had some thing happen to him ireland to make him not want to move atall. as this horse doesnt stand still on yard ever even to be brushed.
Glad he behaved tho!

Well I guess it could be said that I can't ride one side of him - he does have a fantastic temperament though.

Sadly he has obviously been roughly treated and has learnt that attack is the best form of defence. He is beginning to learn that there is no need for "defence" and hopefully he will become the very sweet and loving boy he can be when he's feeling confident.

dizzydancer, he's ISH officially but mostly TB, like yours he's had some rough treatment that he needs to get over. He wasn't stressed whilst standing, didn't go into frozen statue mode or anything, just seemed very chilled about it all. He has a naughty habit of breaking leather headcollars though which is why he had his rope looped through, rather than being tied.

He is beginning to relax round us though:)

Yay! :) Glad all is going well :)

Now, photos, please! :D

ETS - PS - Sent you a fb message over the weekend :)
