Well, I have had my new boy since the 3rd June. He is a 16hh ex racer, 6 yrs old.
I have ridden him out with others since i have had him and also done schooling, but never ridden out on my own.
Anyway today was the day, I plucked up the courage and took him, we only went out for 35 mins, but had a couple of trots and the rest walking, he was alert but so good.
Sorry this is a self indulgent post but i just had to share, i was so nervous about doing it, but really pleased that i did.
I know you will all understand

well done... i am in the same position as you. I have just got a 14.2 connie and have been hacking out in company, still hanging on to go out on my own but we'll get there. Took her on grass today and she was brill, had a bit of excitement but think she thoroughly enjoyed it and walked all the way
