Sorry, bit of a proud mummy post
Well, today I jumped Wings at home, and he was amazing, even though the jumps were only about 90cm! Have only really jumped him once since Christmas and all the bad weather before today. When I first got him, he was scared to jump poles, but today, he was flying everything, including barrels, fillers and planks. He was soooo good. It's days like this, I really want to get out and compete him, he just feels brilliant. He was looking at things, and jumping the jumps about a foot bigger than needed, but he wasn't looking at them at all. At one point, I was nearly flung off he was so scopey. Now I've got him so fit though, he gets so unbelievably excited, that I have no brakes
Normally he is ridden in a snaffle on the flat, and goes brilliantly, then is jumped in a dutch gag, on the middle hole. Today though, I had to put him on the bottom hole, which I hate doing, but I thought it would be better having more control, and having to pull less
.
If anyone can help me have more control, it would be greatly appreciated. It is not him being naughty, just seriously excited
.
Just to top it off, Monica is currently being ridden my Helen, one of my friends (not same one as could not be bothered to turn her out), and she rode her on Friday and today, mainly working on flatwork. Well, something has finally clicked in Monica's mind, and she is now going down really in walk and trot, and getting there in canter. She is also tracking up behind really well, so seriously proud of her
. Shame I have to sell her though
