Well our gorgeous foal has been on box rest for three weeks and went off to Rossdales this morning to have a look at his OCD. I am so proud of him. He's never been on a horse box before, or trailer, and loaded straight on, despite the slush and ice. Have a little tear in my eye for him though as he was neighing loudly as they drove off. Poor little mite. :(

Oh bless him, in sure he will be fine once he gets there :) what a good boy for loading straight on the trailer tho.

He's got there safely and walked calmly off the ramp and to the stable. We had thought he would be a handful after being on box rest for three weeks, bless him.

Ah, posted a little thread the other day to you asking how he was doing.

I didn't see it. Poor little mite has to stay in for an operation tomorrow. He might have to stay about a week. His owner was so upset leaving him there. :( I will miss having him about.

My TB, Jas, had to go into horspital when she was a few months old. She had Gutteral Pouch Tympany and had to have Foley catheters stitched into her nose. She loaded straight onto a big lorry (never been on a lorry, or away from mum, who was too poorly to go with her)
She travelled on her own perfectly for two hours, got off at the horspital and stood perfectly to be scoped, then was kept in for a week.
She kept pulling her catheters out and we went back three times for her to be re scoped and re catheterised, she was an angel every time :)
Dunno what happened. She is six now and a total cowbag :D
Wishing the very best for your brave foalie xxx Amazing what they will tolerate when the chips are down.

Aw what a good girl she was! I hope our boy doesn't trn into a pain when he's older. His owner felt so bad leaving him though. Hpehe's okay tomorrow. The prognosis is good but a GA is always suc a worry.
