So rather proud post & NOTHING initially to do with massive riding achievements on Mini Me's part.
So today she had a lesson with the young teenagers & her partner in crime a year older..... One of the older kids is very nervous & they had a lesson in one of the fields with a trio of jumps put up, Road block, Skinny & blue barrels...
So they did the jumps one by one & nervous child couldn't get over the 3 in a row & asked who she wanted to give her a lead... she said Mini Me ( just turned 7 ) ..
So off they went & my heart melted.... all the way round Mini Me kept shouting are you Ok, .... even mid air which her instructor found amazingly cute...
she even bloody slowed down after the jumps to wait for following rider to say ok to gallop on up the field before slowing to a canter to the back of the ride and then STILL asked if she was ok lol.
I have to say if she had bloody well jumped a 6ft fence I wouldnt have been as proud..... So in the car tonight I said to her that I was proud & she said in the earlier stages of the lesson when they did group canters etc nervous rider kept asking her just to talk to her as it made her feel less nervous...
Seriously if Horse riding teaches kids such empathy & understanding they all should be doing it!!!!!!
Oh Mini Me did jump her first 80cms oxer yesterday lol but that is not half as important as her actually taking the job of lead rider & looking after a less confident rider who is 5 years older!
no photo evidence as wasnt there but was informed by her instructor & a very gloating mini me who informed me she is jumping as big as I am lol...
Token photos of them...Mini Me loves this pony so so much, hopefully will get another good 2 yrs out of her.... will hopefully get some video footage of them tomoro going up & down the huge bank they did last week which puts most of us adults to shame!
