I couldn't resist posting on here about my little man.

He has been taking leaps and bounds in the last three weeks, going from scared little pony, to a soppy little pony.

Yesterday I managed to pick out his front two feet, which we have been trying for the last week!

Also we went for a walk with two other littleuns, his first time on the road. he pulled a tiny bit when the first couple of cars, but after lots of reassuring he was fine. Ont he way back, he didn't even flinch, even when two cars passed him one after the other and the horse in front was skittering!

And finally, he's currently stabled and I turned him out in the manege for about an hour yesterday just to see how he would be to catch. everytime I walked away from him he just followed me. I left him in there for an hour. He groomed another horse over the fence (a friends horse that was tied up) and then when i went back in, he walked straight over to me!

For a horse that just over 3 weeks ago wouldn't let me anywhere near him, i think he's doing fantastically!

awh congratulations :) & such a brave boy!

its such a rewarding experience when the come on so well so quickly!

its so nice when you have good improvments , i have alittle friesian colt was exported over from holland by myself he was a unhandled 10 month old foal , he now comes when called , can lead propley , has a nummah on , has a head collar on (as i couldnt get near his head to change the one he had on that was to small ), has his bridle on , the other day i managed to introduce a rug did try before hand but use to take off everytime it came out , has his feet trimmed (couldnt handle his feet ) can groom and give him kisses and cuddles and gereraly goes up to anyone in site know ,he has come a long way

Hey great you got his feet done!! Congrats! :D

I can't remember how old you said he was, but it worried me a little bit that he was out hacking with other horses before being cut, unless of course he's too young or he was with geldings. Sorry if I'm being ignorant but a friend was trampled trying to keep hold of her 2 yr old colt while he was trying to make good friends with a mare...

So do stallions never go out with other horses? How do they learn to behave if they are never near another horse. I've known stallions who will happily hack out with mares and not bat an eyelid. They know when it's time for 'that' and when not. The 2 year old colt i handle would be fine with other horses. He can see mares all day and it doesn't bother him. He's been out at the same time as the old mare (both in hand) and wasn't bothered at all.

But anyways, that's not the point. OP you sound to be doing a fab job, no wonder he trusts you so much, so quickly. He's going to be a lovely little horse when he's had a few more months of tlc and grass :)
