I took him to a show yesterday for the first time (Epworth HT)and he did not put a hoof wrong, bless him. He took everything in his stride, was completely chilled out in between the classes, was not phased at all by the other horses, and did everything I asked of him.

To all of you who described standardbreds as wanting to please, and trying their hardest for you when I was thinking of buying him, you could not have been more right! He is the sweetest natured thing I have ever come across, and he has springs in his feet too :D
Manners-wise, he puts my welshie (who can find shows and training sessions far too exciting)to shame.

I was just wanting to get a clear round, and we got a time of 47s in the 75cm class, only 3s off a place, which I was more than chuffed with, as we were not rushing for a time at all :)

A link to the photos on facebook (that I bought and I am tagged in) so I think I am allowed to add the links:

Thanks for reading, pointless post really apart from to promote SBs - they are FAB!!!!

I should update my signature!

Thanks all for your lovely messages.
Lastchancer - I have seen the stagbi fb page, it is great to see all the different shapes and sizes of SBs and what they have achieved. I definitely think they are an under-rated breed. But maybe I am now a bit biased!!!
