She has done so well since getting Sunny 3 1/2 years ago when he was fat and unfit and unable to canter a 20m circle
shocked.gif

Tonight she finished in fine form again winning prelim 14 by 8 points and getting just over 70% and she had a go at her first ever novice test and came 4th in that out of 6 with just over 61% despite breaking in the canter twice
blush.gif
She was only 2 marks off joint 2nd so is understandably chuffed to bits

Will hopefully get photos and video from mum and Mooch tomorrow, in the meantime please see a couple of pics taken from last night's schooling session

Big thanks to Bonny Williams for her invaluable tuition
smile.gif
, Mum and Dad for being unpaid grooms
smirk.gif
, Mooch and Jo for being there and helping, Me for calling the tests so well

, and last but not least Sunny (Tequila Sunrise) for being such a star for his mummy

He is just her type, good job it's not a mare otherwise we might have had to go on a raid lol

well we've talked to her about it as she regulary scores 70% in her prelim tests and tonight she got a 9 for her entry down the centre line

smile.gif

Shhh don't let her hear you re his mane, I get told off when Pidge plays in the field and pulls bits of mane or tail out

LOL thank god he's not a stallion as even gelded he likes to think he's a stallion especially when the mares are in season in the next field

grin.gif

fuuny you should ask though as a chap at the dressage tonight said it was a shame he wasn't a stallion as he would have loved to put him to his nice mare he had
smirk.gif
Our instructor says he has "attitude"
wink.gif

Amy I have to agree with you on that, I mean to get 61% in her first ever Novice test despite breaking the canter on each occasion well puts me well and truly to shame
blush.gif
and to regulary get 70% in prelims I would have thought would be good enouth to affiliate?

Yes definately. Does she do dressage at other places? Kingswood , Marchington and Watt meadow unaff usually a high standard to see how she compares? (Ours isn't a high standard I'm afraid!) We had a go at November Aff prelim at Rod and came last (out of 9) but only 1/2 a percent from next one up who is a prof rider so was really pleased and gave me more confidence at trying higher standard stuff. (It was Hol's first outing since last April too)

not yet but I think she will have to based on her results so far
grin.gif
let us know next your at Rod and we'll come over

shocked.gif

He's gorgeous!!!! well done to your sister and of course cobs can do dressage, they have got four legs just like any other horse.

ah go on if I'm gonna have to brave it then so can you
smirk.gif

At least Murphy is keen though
tongue.gif
better than being lethargic IMO
grin.gif
how's his weight going?

thank you, I'm so pleased for both of them as it's taken a lot of hard work to get them to this stage, and huge huge thanks to our ever patient instructor Bonny

He used to be soooo lazy - it's taking me a while to get used to the new, more energetic Murph! His weightloss is going OK but has slowed down a lot, the grass is starting to grow now so he'll soon be on restricted grazing.

i was planning to attempt a walk & trot test with Murphy, but that got cancelled...wil maybe do one at some point but we still ahve a few issues with using a snaffle.

Tell her her marks are telling her she is good enough

There should be more cobs out there doing dressage.
Has she read in YH magazine about Wesley the coloured cob who is competing at Medium level at the mo?

Well done to both your sister and Sunny

I'm definitely a member of the Sunny fan club, he's so gorgeous, I hope Fudge and I can do as well one day.
