Went to yard on Sunday as usual, no greeting from my boy. Hay not finished, thought might be a bit of off hay. Gave breakfast and went in to change rugs, hadn't touched breakfast and sweating. Took temperature, high. Looked depressed and definitely not usual self. Looked uncomfortable.

Phoned vet. At the same time he had an emergency call and came 2 hours later. Bless him emergency call to put pony to sleep.

Vet gave extensive exam. Found heart arythmyia (sp) normal in resting pony nothing to worry about, breathing a little fast, temp high. Did rectal exam and took bloods. Prescribed danilon and antibiotics. Said probably an infection.

Wednesday: Pony back to normal on the outside. Bloods showed anaemia (sp) and white cells showed virus. So pleased pony is on the mend, in fact back to normal behaviour.

I have ordered some red cell meds (as advised by vet) meds to help recovery.

Pointless post really, just so pleased and relieved he is on the mend. I have owned my boy for 10 years and cannot believe it took me so long to realise something was so wrong. He must have been wrong for some days at least. I see and spend time with him at least twice a day. Vet also did kidny and liver function test and test showed a good result.
