Having found a really good yard and ready to move in, my boy is on box rest at home.

On the upside, hopefully will still have a place available in the spring.

New yard has good internal stables. Large arena, half under cover. Good tack room, toilet and washing machine. Good coffee/tea facilities, easy chairs. No muck heap, muck carted away.

Well fenced paddocks with water tap to each paddock.

Lovely people on yard, met most of them, unpleasantness not tolerated.

All this and not silly prices.

Can't wait 'til spring.

Why can't you move cos he is on box rest, horses travel from Yorkshire to Newmarket to have surgery on broken legs, just as long as the leg is stable, so it has a Robert jones bandage on. Go for it don't lose the opportunity, good time for him to settle in as we'll whilst horses more in boxes mor cos it is winter etc

Several reasons not to move him now. He is very settled and horses going in and out may wind him up. If he had already been on the yard a different story. I can spend loads of time with him at home. Cost of keeping him much reduced, not the main reason. DIY so could spend time travelling which I can spend with him. He may never come sound so the decision I make is down to me with no outside complications.

At the end of the day, my horse, my decision, and I have his best interests at heart.

Bear in mind the vet has recommended box rest 'til spring.
