It seems every time it seems I get a side saddle sorted for Hattie, it ends up not being right and I end up saddleless again.
My new custom saddle that I ordered in August, is now way too big for Hattie as I've been schooling and riding alot so she's fittened up and no amount of flocking is going to make it smaller. I stupidly ordered it when she had been on my friend's grassy field grazing it down and I had gone on holiday and then broke my rib so I wasn't able to ride for ages.
The saddler said it was no longer right for Hattie and he could alter it no further for her and that it was pressing down on her withers/shoulders as it was much too big (now she's a bit tender there and have to get out the back lady).
I've gone through so many saddles trying to find "The One" and paying side saddlers to make them fit and my OH got angry at me last night saying that it was becoming a "money pit".
I feel so frustrated as just when our riding is coming along in leaps and bounds, I get set back by "equipment failure" of some sort. I just want to freakin' ride!!! We were going to do a Prelim test in 2 weeks too!!!
So now I've got to try and sell my lovely new saddle and go through the long arduous task of finding a suitable one.
I'm about ready to give up and take up inhand showing only at this point!!!
