(Bit pointless but I don't have anyone to tell this too so thought I'd put it here)

Hacked down to the beach last night, 15 minutes of which on a very busy main road, and Juno was perfect! Lorries passed, motorbikes right up her bum and a whole herd of cyclists whizzing up behind and she didn't flinch:D Then on the beach there was a surf competition with hundreds of people, and she did nothing but snort and a prance a bit.

I got her at the end of April and now due to the fact I'm a nervous wreck when it comes to riding, only now am I venturing out and she's really building my confidence back!!

Last few years I've had nothing but youngsters/crazy horses so now its great to finally have something I can trust. Pointless I know but wanted to get it out of my system:o

Wow. I really envy you being able to ride on a beach. I think I'll put that on my bucket list!!! Congratulations for over coming your nerves to get there. I'm sure the ride on the beach was a reward in itself. Onward and upwards!!

Thats lovely news and lucky you being able to ride on the beach. I would love to do that more often, especially now with my kissing spines mare. Rode her this week for the 2nd time since she came back into work having not been ridden since last Nov, she was amazing and such a brave horse. I feel the same as you, little steps over a period of time and the confidence builds for everyone.

see my youngster is like this, he really does have an old head on young shoulders and i can literally put any one on him! and he seems to know when i am nervos as he puts a brave face on even though i know full well he is bricking it him self he really tries his hardest...best feeling in the world considering i wouldnt even go near a horse with out being scared about 4 years ago :P (bad accident caused this)

i also envy you for having a near bye beach you can ride on...ours is sea weed and stones :(

Thank you everyone:p I know, lucky having a beach so close! Funny when the younger horses are the bravest, my pony had just turned three and was hacking down main roads without even blinking, he is the most bombproof thing I'd ever sat on, getting him back off loan soon:)

Izzwizz thats great! So happy for you too:)

Oh OP its not a pointless post. you enjoyed the beach with your horse. you went out and did it though you bravely say you are a nervous wreck. give yourself - and horsey to - a big pat on back smile and be proud. pointless post? Never . a nice post to read? Oh yes x
