My poor boy is so hairy he was sweating doing light schooling today. I know that everyone says don't clip now as it will ruin summer coat but surely thats better than him being uncomfortable?
I won't lie, would make the next for months more pleasurable for me to.
Do I or don't I????

Clip him, do not worry about other people passing judgment, some people clip their horses all year round. If your horse is sweaty and uncomfortable and clipping will help him, do it.
I used to clip my girl whenever, even in febraury/march :D

I have just done my 2 tonight :)
One had just started to moult as in a few hairs here & there but she is such a hot horse that she was struggling to cope in her rainsheet over these past few days (shes an almost completely white coloured & we have way too much mud!) & I have now increased her workload.
The other is just coming back into work & has an annoying tendancy to hold onto her coat well into the summer & gets too hot so I'm planning ahead with her!

If it will make your boy happier I would clip!

I always clipped out my old lad as he was cushings, his coat was beautiful! Melly will be clipped out this year as she held her coat last year and was so uncomfortable.
Go for it, it wont make a jot of difference to his coat :) x
