So, this is mildly disturbing...

Henry rolled in fox poo this weekend (that's not disturbing, it's just par for the course at this time of year). However I was at my parents' so had to improvise as I had no dog shampoo - so after a ketchup rinse to remove the smell, I ended up shampooing his ears with Aussie for coloured hair.

The mildly disturbing bit is that he now smells exactly like he did when he used to come back from the groomers...

Meaning that either the groomer was using Aussie (no wonder it was so blimmin' expensive if that was the case!), OR that I have been washing my hair in dog shampoo...

Mind you I have always had a very glossy coat

Some dog shampoos are much dearer than human ones

There is no difference. The pH balance is a load of BS and many dog shampoos have citric acid to lower the pH.

Relvon & Timotei are the preferred choice of many exhibitors.

I've bathed mine in Aussie before (and it sure makes them smell lush ) but I have to say, my little ones wouldn't know what a groomer is. It's the benefit of having what are essentially short haired spaniels

Mine doesn't these days. He just knows to hide under the furniture when the newspaper goes down and the clippers are fired up Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz........

Herman got washed in Tresemme yesterday cos we'd run out of mutt shampoo. It hurt to do it.
