Just found this on the BBC website, it was taken after her test according to Lizzie Greenwood-Hughes' blog. Think that test meant an awful lot to Mary going by this:

She deserves a gold for enthusiam alone methinks!

My handwritten postcard that she wrote to me in response to a letter I sent her at the age of 12 takes pride of place on my noticeboard.

Brilliant pic, thanks for posting, really made me smile. Go Mary! The team needs all the help it can get! And a little help from "above" certainly wouldn't go amiss IMHO.

What a great picture. I just noticed that she's also riding in a snaffle. Beautiful horse and Excellent rider, i wouldn't be surprised if we see her daughter competing in the Olympics one day..

I love natural pics like that, no posing or anything and you can tell she loves Cavvy to pieces, he isn't just a competition machine, even though he's super-talented!

She is what the Olympics is about. She really is someone to admire. A real lady! I do hope she comes away with a medal, there is no one I would like to see win gold more than her. She is always so gracious, even after her fall at Badminton, I would have been crying or swearing but she just keeps smiling and stays positive. Go Mary!

Don't want to take away from it but, uh, it's the dressage, their either in snaffles or double bridles....

She is such a lovely person too. When my daughter asked her for her autograph at a local event Mary chatted to her for 5 minutes. She asked about her ponies and her ambitions. In her autograph book she put ' Follow your dreams' - probably what she has done all her life.
Good luck Mary - you deserve a medal

The majority use a double, some with quite a tight curb rein.So it's nice to see a horse at that level in a snaffle

Yes she is a lovely person.
