My little kitty "cookie" was on yard this afternoon wandering around as usual. Fly targetted her and lashed out with front feet stallion style and landed on her foot. Now he's nearly 17hh and shes tiny. She ran away and when i managed to get her there was a tiny bit of blood. She is holding the back foot up but will put the foot down although it is swollen. She seems happy, is eating well etc. I will leave it till tomorrow and see how she is. Then take Fly to local school for jumping. He goes lame within 5 mins. What a s**t week i'm having. Fly is so jealous he "goes" for accompanying horses on hacks or any other animal in his "bubble". Not sure how to handle this behaviour. Any suggestions??

Never thought of rig like behaviour before and have to say that I doubt it. I have had a true "rig" before and it was so obvious. Fly is so complex. In the field with 3 others he is number 2. Number one is blatenently in charge and Fly gives way....except on hacks. He will "go" for number 1 at every opportunity. It seems classic "jealousy" and only happens when I am around. When turned out in herd of 4 he is number 2 and accepts it. Strange. xx

Mine does this out hacking, usually a sharp kick in the belly resolves it!!Cant answer why??He is boss in field at present but wasnt previous to this yard!!!Think it maybe just something to do with how protective they are of their personal space!!
