After my previous thread about quail made the decision to get a few bantams instead of quail I’ve now ended up with both!
The farm gamekeeper went away on holiday just after hatching 14 quail eggs in an incubator so I had them here for a few weeks to look after for him. Tiny tiny little chicks.
There were two smaller white ones which of course caught the eye and I became quite fond of them ;)
On a separate note, I saw a large rabbit run advertised locally for £10 so bought that for our rabbits.
GK turned up to collect after a couple of weeks and offered me some as a thank you, saying my run in the garden was a perfect home for them.
So I have 5 normal and one of the white but I think the supplier of the eggs is having a couple to hopefully be a breeding pair so will end up with 4.
Quite entertaining little birds, they are currently outside the window in eyeline from the sofa and I find myself watching them rather than the TV😂

Now still need to find a decent rabbit run....

Make sure you end up with just one male or they will literally rip each other to pieces. One male to three females is a good ratio though! Mine like in a rabbit hutch and run. Its perfect for quail.
