The weather forecast is fine, just a bit windy and the odd shower.
Rewind back 12 months to tyrella 1 last year, it rained constantly from 10am until about 2.30 (I thought our lorry was going to blow over). Hoping this year is going to be positively balmy in comparison.
Come and say hello - we are doing intro with the bay mare, so you'll be finished before we start probably.
Also walking course Friday afternoon. It's the highlight of poppy's week
Not this week, sister is going, I'm being so dreafully hard done by, staying at uni!
I think a vote for ClaireL wearing the superb trousers we've seen in the picture posts is a must though?
will be helping my friend who has 2 in the Junior c class (my mum owns 2 legs of one!). Will also have a very badly behaved black and tan terrier on a lead! (hopefully)
Good luck to all those competing....I have been there when it has rained so hard that the judge could not see my dressage test (just as well) and the hailstones were so sore on your face when going xc....really needed my head tested that day!
Was that the year the showjumps were blowing over hati, and there were about half a dozen parents/helpers in the arena holding onto uprights. You and I were waiting for our turn to go in. I think Raymond bought his metal pegs for the uprights after that year.
The Xc wasn't too pleasant either, especially the loop down by the shore.
Not going this week - heading to Gurteen instead, but I'll be at the next two so will be looking out for your reports and photos so I know what to expect
Do they use the same course for all 3? What's the one-star course like?
They have 3 seperate courses, although they do reuse 1 or 2 fences. The novice is big and bold normally, not too technical and is good as a first run if you have a bold jumping horse.
The third event is always a big step up with a fully up to height XC and plenty of questions. It is used as a prep run for Ballindenisk CIC* and those wanting to step up to intermediate.
All courses are very fair though!
See you next week!
