8.5 weeks old, collected him on Sunday. he was a surprise birthday present for my husband, who shoots. He will be a working dog and also a house pet. I have 3 adult dogs who all live in the house, we have a huge utility room. Think laundry areaXdog kennel!

All going well so far.

He is being crate trained and uses it when unsupervised.

Ohhhhh he is just adorable ... way way toooo cute!

We have a 15 month EES called Oscar, the best decision I have ever made, the most loyal and loving friend I could ever ask. You are going to have so much fun. Seeing this just makes me want another!

A VERY smart puppy, and I am a bit picky! An apparent hunting instinct already, so do be careful about doing too much too soon. Don't overdo the early obedience work, better to keep temptation out of his way. Properly docked with a white tip, the old-time dog-men would approve!

It'll be interesting to hear how he progresses. How's he bred?

Alec.

We haven't had a springer before. I had 2 Cavalier KC Spaniels as a teenager who were the old fashioned type, bigger than they are now and spaniels rather than toy dogs.

I had a Welsh Collie x Welsh Springer which I rescued, he was my first dog away from the parental home, he was joined by a rescue Staffy a few years later. Since then we have had a lurcher, 2 boxers, another staffy and a Labrador. So we are used to high energy dogs. We still have Staffy, 7, Boxer, 9 and Lab, 10 Fancied a puppy this time as rehomed Staffy and Boxer as adult dogs and really missed puppy cuddles.

Ah he is absolutely lovely and his name is super! I have two ESS - mum and daughter and they are wonderful working dogs, the young one is neurotic at home but an incredible worker - looking forwards to updates already!

Alec, he isn't left to get himself into trouble, I accompany him in the garden. Just doing a bit of recall, sit and some baby retrieves. It all comes very naturally to him atm. When he is recalled he sits straight in front of me to present. I only ask him to do things for a minute or two.

I was very pleased with him yesterday though. In garden for a pee, saw two mallards so I asked him to sit, I clapped my hands and they flew off. ATM I am the centre of his universe so making the most of it. OH will do some gundog classes with him, trouble is OH needs training first!!!

Aww he is gorgeous and I am so jealous, we were due to have springer about now but unfortunately we have had to post pone until next year now due to work commitments- so for now I will enjoy watching yours grow and continue to cuddle my labrador!!

Torwind? Is that Shara? Thought she'd stopped breeding, or was that her last litter? Gorgeous boy, although tbh, I'd stop the leaf chasing. My bil's pup does that and won't stop, it's quite obsessive.

Torwind still breeding, have a google of their website. Just the sire is Torwind he was bred near me. He isn't obsessed with leaves, these were just caught in a devil wind in a corner of the patio, he is lovely and willing atm although i'm sure this will change as he grows!
