Apart from Col, Rowreach and Jobo!?!?

I'm going to Stockland Lovell first weekend in June, am a bit twitchy about it as my horse is a pillock - had him 13 years this summer, and he's got more and more excitable over the years! We've NEVER had a group lesson, haven't had a lesson for about four years, and haven't jumped a pole for about 10 years - and I'm not kidding! Oh, and he can't stand still even for a count of three!

So my aim for the weekend is to get there and back in one piece (he's got more nervous about travelling as he's got older too *sigh*) and to have fun, and if he's a git I will put him back in the stable and pout myself a large drink (and then get one of my bold friends to ride him!).

What's everyone elses plans?

I've been

Waresley Park, pre-season eventer camp with Owen Moore, Nat Dixon and Phoebe Buckley.

My embarrassment was that I took my daughter's horse which she's campaigned at PC, RC and a (very) little BE so we had dressage and jumping saddles, boots etc but I had only jumped her three times before we went and hadn't really left the ground at all for some years. I'm also absolutely terrified of falling off - at my age and weight, off such a big horse it HURTS! Talk about all the gear and no idea.

Good fun though, just a shame it was last weekend and it peeed down so we couldn't use the XC. Nice to have a huge indoor school and two outdoor surfaces and the gallops to play on.

unfortunatly no, my horse is in rehab work at the mo as he has bad back and muscle issues, was going to the blackdown riding club camp at stockland but just going to watch now!

I am supposed to be going, with JoBo actually end of July. Just want fingers crossed he is sound and back on form by then.

Oh and I’m not allowed to say my plans then????!!!!

I’ll just whisper…..

First Camp is with my Riding Club in June, 3 days at Cold Blow Farm, never been there before (well only for one comp). Get a flatwork, SJ-ing and XC lesson.

Second one at end of July, at my favourite-ist place ever, Plumpton College. Been there the last two years in a row and had an absolute ball! Taking _Gina_ with me!
I think Summer Camps are just such a good way of getting confidence and just having pure horsey time! The ones I have been on have been so much fun!
Spot_the_Risk, I bet you love it so much you go next year too!

I guarantee you, there will always be someone’s horse that is worse behaved then yours! There was a poor woman last year that got dumped twice in the first lesson, however by the end she was out on the XC course having an absolute ball!

I'm hopefully going to one in May. Had a bit of a traumatic time last year, and came back with a lame pony (think he got kicked), but hopefully, will go better this year!
