hiya, iv been reading some posts and there has been a few mentions of soaked oats. what are these fed for? do you feed it for condition?
also, does anybody know if u have to feed thrive at the same levels in summer as in winter?

This is probably best posted in the Stable Yard area, you'll likely get more replies there

I feed soaked oats. I believe it can add condition. I feed it because I think my horse has a barley intolerence and oats do the trick in giving him sparkle for competing. Plus they are super cheap!!

Not sure what "thrive" is though so cant help you on that one!

I feed soaked oats. PF does really well on them; she doesn't pass whole oats like she used to (which makes me think she's digesting them better) and keeps condition on far less feed (by weight) than before. She's also calmer! AND she used to colic quite regularly when on cubes (only alternative here to straights) and hasn't since eating oats. I adore them and will never feed anything else, but they do need to be supplemented with alfalfa (lucerne) or calcium in some other form.
