Soaking calm and condition

No I don't think so, I often soak it over night. Probably wouldn't if it was warm weather, but no danger of that at the moment :)

If you think about it - feeds made at night to be fed at breakfast are de facto soaked over night. (Which might be the basis for your question!) On that basis my calm & condition is always soaked overnight and I've not had a problem in over 3 years.

I was put off using Calm and Condition. I don't always have time to soak feeds on a night for that night (no Kettle, and we are in North Cumbria, its very cold and sometimes it takes a good half an hour to soak!) so I used to do 2 days worth at once, but it started to smell funny after 1 day.

I use fast fibre, I have to make a feed at night, ready for the mornig, so the first person at the yard can feed! there is no issue with doing that! I also used to know someone who made a bucket full, like you do with sugarbeet and used to use a scoop a day!

Yep, I've done both those things regularly, never had a problem! (with Fast Fibre, can't use C&C sends my tb LOOPY!!)

Good will do that. I had been making it up in the morning with hot water which soaks it quicker but will leave over night.

C&C has the same effect of my horse too!! i've just noticed they do one in between FF and C&C now, called ride and relax or something, was considering giving that a go if he ever needed some extra weight

I feed my mare this morning and night so in winter I make up a bucket and it soaks overnight to last a couple of days, in summer I only make enough for a days worth and its the last thing I make at night so its ready for the following morning & evenings feed, I don't make more as I find it turns quicker in the warmer weather. Never had any bother with it at all.

I know quite a few people who have noticed the lack of calm, yard friends had their Conny mare on it, gave her quite an edge :)

I'd be interested to hear about what you think on Ride and Relax, though I think both my guys will stay on their Fast Fibre, I think it's a good one. (sorry to divert from topic)
