Hi,

I've just started (yesterday) soaking my mare's hay for 24 hours. She's a ridiculously good doer, section D. She needs to lose some weight before she goes on to the lush spring grass, but she just needs to lose it in general. She's actually put it on over winter!

So what kind of supplement do I need to give her to compensate for the goodness lost by soaking the hay for 24 hours? I know Codlivine is popular, but I don't really know much about any supplements.

P.s. I feed her Hoof Kind. It says it's low starch/sugar, added minerals etc. For laminitcs...what do you think?

Thank you.

The TENS supplement is meant to be very good, balanced with the vits n mins your horse needs..its recommended by the laminitis site ( i know your horse hasnt got laminitis but.. ). Try and up her exercise too as this helps a lot :)

Thank you so much.

I have found a Ten's product, the 'Daily Balancer' seems about right. Although it doesn't contain iron, I'm not sure if iron is being soaked out of hay?

Is it not possible to give her more exercise? Something that works far better with my welshie than restricting his diet ever did.

I use equimins advanced complete, no iron ;)
