Hi,

Sorry this isn't really competition related but I am in the process of setting up a new business and need some feedback from the market I am aiming the product at. I lurk on here under another user name and thought competition riders would be an approriate place to gain feedback as hopefully one day you may purchase my product!

I'd like to know what colour socks you like to wear - hopefully not a too personal question!? :)

Ideally if you could tell me your top three colour choices. I know alot of the time your socks aren't seen but with the matchy matchy craze is your outfit finished with matching socks or is colour irrelevant to you?!

Many thanks in advance and I hope you don't think my poll is too random!

I usually co ordinate socks to the outfit. So most often my socks would be black or navy if riding.

Natural shades like beige, dark green and browns for thick walking socks to wear around the yard with boots.

Never bright colours like pinks, purples and yellow. Most definitely not long stripey socks.

Prefer good quality wool and cotton, natural fibres etc. Boringly simple but well made.

We like socks from Toggi and Blaze, because they're well made in colours which match Al's!

These people also sell amazing socks, really well made and comfortable :)

Stripy is the most important, and stripes in well-known XC colours probably even better (so pink and blue, pale blue and dark blue, black and red, red and green...) with nice thin material for the legs and thicker material for the feet.

They sound awesome!!would defiantly use them:D!!

Must admit I prefer bright colours, esp in winter because they cheer me up! Today I have multi-striped knee-length socks, and they go with anything... the stripes are royal blue, orange, lilac, red, pea green, purple, yellow then repeat, and I absolutely love them!
I have some really bright spotty socks I bought at Burghley which are another big favourite. Also grey, black, dark pink stripes look great with black breeches.
If I'm buying boring black ones I just buy from Tesco's, because they wear well and are as cheap as chips. I'll only pay a decent amount for pretty colours and patterns.

Riding socks - must be sturdy and warmish. Toggi and Townend ones are good. Must admit like them brightly coloured, patterned, stripy, tasteless !
Non riding socks - black if visible. If not, ie with boots, see up.

I like long riding socks, Im currently loving my thermal Gersemi navy socks, there warm, nice silver/grey design on them and comfy to ride in.
Colour choices for me, navy, red, purple.

I can't do the poll on my phone. But agree with the others re bright stripy socks. They have to be long and the brighter the better. As said above in the winter they cheer me up!

knee / thigh length, stripy, patterned, spotty, or like golf socks and brightly coloured!

I'm one of those garish people who schools at home with the stripy socks hangind out the top of my gaiters and over my knees ;)

These used to be my favourite ;)

I love the hv polo and hkm ones with a thicker sole.. Lovely :) Colour wise mine are mainly grey, navy and turquoise or outrageous patterns!

I have a thing for socks I defiantly patterned or striped pr at least coloured I like them knee length with wide bands at top thin wool for under best boots and fleece for under work boot in winter .
I always try to buy the thinish wool ones in Italy where any department stores will have loads of of knee length socks at good prices I get the smallest mens one perfect but I am sad I love a nice pair of socks.

For me I like complementary colours, my favourite pair are plum and blue but I also have chocolate and beige, navy and turquoise, pale blue, pale lilac and navy etc. I also LOVE the fluffy, stripy Joules socks (the long ones) but these can be a little toasty in my insulated ariats!
Not such a fan of the really bright multicoloured socks but then I don't just wear them for riding and get enough weird looks as it is...

For riding I like my socks to have a thick, slightly fluffy sole/foot and then thinner but supportive leg.

I'm another fan of knee length socks, with fun designs or patterns. Colour wise I like blues, purples, pinks and various shades between! I currently have a variety of Horseware, Mark Todd and Toggi. I normally buy a multipack pack and wouldn't pay more than £15 for 3 pairs. I often buy last seasons colours and designs cheap, rather then buy at full price. Maybe I am just a cheap skate?

I love knee length socks too for riding in! Especially a fan of the Toggi and Puffa ones, the louder the colours the better. My favourite pair are the Toggi ones in a green, purple, gold and white alternating stripe. The stripes don't actually follow a regular order and they're fab. Years old now and still going strong. I'm a fan of stripes (wide not narrow) and spots.

As an aside, my Toggi socks are really old but my mum has the newer ones that are made of bamboo but they don't wear half as well as my old ones!

I like Toggi/Musto/Puffa long socks. Brightly coloured but they must match!

Totally off topic but Jenni_ is that horse is your photo yours?

Bright ones with funky patterns as they are normally on show at some point during the day. Knee high with a thicker bit on the foot are my favourite but I have some that are like the feet on most riding socks all the way up that are fab for winter.

I loved my puffa ones but not managed to replace them. I compete in Kingsland ones which I absolutely love!

I also bought loads in aldi recently, my favourites are pink and grey stripes. Thinking about the zebra print ones in the horse health catalogue that dropped through my door the other day :)

I am a sock-whore :D There I've admitted it !

I don't own a handbag and only half a dozen pair of 'going out' shoes but about 60 pairs of socks.

Knee high, stripey, patterned, plain, some with bows, some with tassles, some with toes and some with holes (don't like to throw them out :o) I've even got some 'ergonomic competition' socks with L and R on them so you put them on the correct feet :p

I was in the village shop the other day with very bright stripey knee high socks on, clashing badly with my jodphurs and as a woman walked out she looked me up and down and said 'just as well we know you have horses'
