OK, so I'm doing the horses this morning.... weather HORRIBLE, gale force winds, driving rain, however feed and put them out put them out while I muck out stables. Fighting loosing battle with electric fencing falling down so have to muck out a couple of stables mega quick and get those in falling down fields in, one won't settle, fine, put him out somewhere fence secure, goes mad churns up field, have to bring back in.. nearly all stables need more straw/shavings, muck being blown out of wheelbarrow as fast as I can put it in. No knife/scissors to open haylage so struggle with a key while the heavens open, need to carry on and get it done as horses in fields looking very grumpy, finally finished, get horses in, foal is a particular pain in the bum, wash legs, breath a sign of relief, look up, BLUE SKY and the SUN is out, GAAAAAH!

it did that to me on friday night, howling wind and rain started up just as we got into the school, gave up after ten minutes because it was really horrid and it was just counterproductive, stopped just as we got back to the stable

I think we were all with you this morning!!!!!!!now Im cooking the dinner and wont have time to ride before it s dark I would rather ride than cook and I think they are beginning to notice

Not quite the same, but daughter was meant to be going to a PC jumping practice today. Like you, we had gale force winds and torrential rain and we were worried about the safety of taking the box out in it. Then got a phone call to say it had been cancelled. So, lo and behold, half an hour later the wind drops and the sun comes out!

We managed to get out during the only dry spell this morning. However yesterday, we had to drive Santa into town. It was HORRIFIC. Torrential rain and gale force winds blowing straight into our faces as we went the mile or so. Santa was OK, he was under cover!!! When we finally finished and got back to the horsebox, the skies turned blue and the sun came out. Lots of miserable cold drowned rats!!!!

Bah well I was gonna go to a show, but it was so windy I decided it was too dangerous so went for a hack instead. I got back, and untacked her, and it was about the time we were gonna leave for the show - the cloud disappears as does the wind, its all sunny and no wind at all, but at that point I'd already ridden so couldn't exactly go to the show!!

No DG, you're not alone!! If this is any consolation to you, today I took my boy to a dressage competition. P7 which I've ridden loads of times, I went wrong 3 times so lost 6 marks. I must've left my brain in bed!! Then in P 17 I went wrong again! So cross. Judge very kindly suggested I get a caller and allowed me to do it again. Managed to get better mark but almost went wrong again with caller!! ... Oh yes, all the time I was warming up in the indoor it was brilliant sun but both tests, sheeted down with rain and wind!!! Still, my baby went lovely though and did sigh when we went wrong for the 3rd time...!!!

oh no... it didn't fair up for me at all!! i went up, got them in (dad had turned them out at 8am in a gale and the heaviest rain i've seen in ages) left them for an hour hoping heads would dry off whilst i tidied up in the feed shed - but no... the pair of them stood looking out at me with rain pouring down their faces...
gave up, stuck a bridle on mine anyway and decided not to lead the other one with me... and set off with flourescent everything on and a long mac and exercise sheet. halfway up the hill horse decides he's had enough and refuses to trot on (he usually carts me up the hill in canter), but i persevere as he's only being objectionable. as soon as the track starts heading for home he's off... marching all the way back.
muck out, change rugs, hay and straw in.... just as i go into the feed shed to hang up wet rugs, i slip on the stone step, go flying and am covered in bruises this morning, my head, my arm, shoulders, back and bum.... grrr...
