Has anyone ever trained and then hitchhiked, got a taxi etc to the SOE showground?

I know nearest stations are either Haywards Heath or East Grinstead but no idea of distance between those and the actual showground.

Either that or if anyone's coming from north west of the region and fancies giving me a lift ( I come with polos and lots of yummy food to share

) on the saturday it would be much appreciated

I would say (being local to S of E!) that Haywards Heath is by far your closest station and it would take all of 5/10mins absolute max. by taxi to the showground

Are you talking about going to the Horse Trials at the end of this month?

I'm coming from the East so that's probably no good to you?? And I don't venture in as far as Haywards Heath....

Yup, weekend 27th/28th. Usually loads of M&S goodies, those tubs of choc swiss rolls, nacho chips (could provide a dip) etc etc etc

I'll be effectively be coming from Clapham junction

(am living in the arse end of nowhere from the middle of Sep). Ardingly is such a pig to get to from where-ever you come from though isn't it? Even for me from home, it's a naff road

Yes, it does seem to take forever to get there even by road!

You're definately the right sort of person to get to know at a Show .... she says, mouth watering at the thought of Nachos and dips....

Am also very good at realising rider hasn't got spurs or gloves on before said rider reaches the dressage warm up

Well if you do see someone weighed down by food in wellies and a bush hat trying to hitch a lift, it'll be me
