My horse had a thrush/fungal infection in his front hooves due to very wet, unexpected weather. He has never suffered with this before, despite being out in wet weather. Anyway, following lots of tips from h&h'ers it was on the mend. During all this his coronet on his fronts hooves turned white and soft (damp had reached deep inside the hoof). I have treatment for all this so thats not my question.

I had been told to still ride him, I am a bit soft about my horse I guess as I am always asking can I ride him, wether is be due to a cut or lost shoe!!! I just don't want to hurt him, or for him to go lame.

Personally I would think that was a no go, especially as its was his front hooves. What do reckon?

personally i wouldnt for a week or so, just to ensure that hoof is completely cleared. I would prob just lunge for about 10 mins one day and then ride a couple of days later.
