Is everyone having problems with the wet weather and there horses feet major is barefoot and has been for a few years now he's 18 and retired and has a ride out at the weekend but he's become realy foot sore on the back feet and the farrier said today it's becouse his feet are so wet any tips on keeping them hard?

Keep him in.
But in all fairness this is not possible.
Best person to ask is your farrier, but drying his feet with a towel when he comes in and getting a good old slap of http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rc...qIDQBQ&usg=AFQjCNHXq5H38biAZPNMKVuIk2rHg8Yucg
something like this on his tootsies.
Even applying a little before he goes out in the morning if he is kept in.

All the best but what a time of year... it's just awful.

Do you feed minerals and/or micronised linseed? My two are out all the time with soggy feet, but still rock crunching. I can only assume it's one or both of the above.
