Around this time every year my pony suffers from soft crumbly frogs!! I just wondered if there is a hoof oil or supplement that anyone would recommend.

To try and explain whats happening, her frog almost has a layer coming off.....her feet aren't thrushy and are picked out twice a day! Her hooves are still very strong, its just her frog that seems to be softening.

Any suggestions welcome!!

If she is not going footy I would say it is her frog doing what her frog needs to do.

footy mean 'foot sore' so a little tender on her feet.

I would not be attempting to harden the frog.. it is designed to be spongey.

If she is not unleve/unsound i would leave it and let it get on with it. Its obviously natural.

It's normal this time of year,as long as it doesnt smell horrible and she's not lame dont worry, although it does no harm to give them a good scrub with warm salty water now and then and dry them after
