After a thorough drenching this afternoon I have decided to invest in softshell breeches. Like the look of the Townend Imp breeches. Any recommendations from HHO?
I have the hkm winter breeches. Very warm and waterproof, but a touch stiff (think neoprene - you need to pull them up well before getting on). Overall though I would recommend them. Also have musto snugs which are immensely warm but don't look pretty (like v thick leggings).
Why not have a look at Equetech Winter Breeches? My other half has a pair and swears by them for rides out in the rain! Their stuff easily matches Pikeur for quality and is generally cheaper too!
I tried the Townend ones and they were a bit tight on the knee and not very stretchy. I then got Caldene winter ones, and although they swish when you walk they are warm and showerproof and cheap! (Well mine were cheap- got a bargain on Amazon). I liked them so much I have a cream pair for outdoor winter shows, last seen at BD. They may not be the most elegant, but paired with my padded Bromonts, and a softshell Musto show jacket I would say I was one of the warmest!
