Has anyone any experience with using solar or wind power for stable lighting and power?
Or has anyone had any quotes for it and decided against it?

I'm also interested in the use of solar panels to power electric fencing and would love to hear your experiences.

You can pm me if you want.

I have a solar panel to run my fencing, it's great, I haven't had to charge my battery in the year I've had it. OH has designed a row of lights for the three stables and tack room that can be clipped onto the battery instead of the fence. It all works fine for me. Even enough spare battery power to jump start my car the other day too.

Hey

Where did you get your solar panels for the electric fence from?

Robinsons, cost about £100 but has been worth it. OH put it on the stable roof facing south and connected it to the battery by cable and crocodile clips. He is no electrician at all, it's fairly basic but works well.
