Solar powered battery chargers

I know there was a short thread recently but does anyone actually use these already.

Are they actually any good and can they be left in the field in the rain etc.

Also do the croc clips fit onto the battery along with the leccy fence croc clips??

I knew I could get one at maplins but assumed that the nearest store would be miles away.... just did a store check and there is one in the next town!!!! I nearly paid the earth for one on ebay

I bought mine from Maplins after I posted, as soon as I took it out of the box it started to flash to say it was working.I was under my stables on a dull day.

It comes in a plastic cover so I just took the cables out and joined them, leaving the panel in the cover.Clipped on the battery and put the others on the top,just room.Placed a bucket upside down over the battery and cables and it has been working well ever since.I know it has only been a few days but it seems worth a go.

I am lucky that it is in the corner of my arena and the horses can't get to it and it can get some light there .Good luck

Try and keep it hidden as best you can. There's been a spate of battery chargers stolen recently apparently.
