Instead of paying out £500-£1000 on a solarium as winter is approaching, has anyone used the normal square security lights that take a 500W halogen bulb, and just replaced the bulb with an infrared bulb, and put a few up in the stable ?

This might not be much use, but we used to put a heat lamp up when for our puppies when we used to breed from our dogs. I only went and burnt my fingers on the sod!
