Solarium?

I'm toying with the idea of installing a solarium for my liveries. We have no indoor space left, so a new roof would have to be put up, and the cost of it all going isn't cheap!

It will be coin operated and cost £1 for a 15 minute session. It will take A LOT of sessions just to break even but my liveries are convinced it will used on a regular basis. My concern is once the novelty wears off it won't get used.

My question is does anyone have a solarium on their yard and if so, does it get used?

TIA

I was thinking of investing in one, but I suspect you're right, once the novelty wears off it won't get used much. Seems a good idea in deepest January!

O, that's quite a few liveries. What are the sums looking like? How much will it need to be used for you to break even? and make a profit?

We're not so much fussed about making loads of money on it, but it needs to pay for itself.

All in with new roof, electrics and solarium I imagine around £2000 so we won't be breaking even any time some.

Thanks for your reply

We have one on our yard. I've only been there a month, but I use it a lot. We don't pay extra and it is included in the price. Some don't use it at all. It appears to mainly be used after heavy exercise or when horses have been washed to get them warm and dry as quickly as possible. I am moving again, and new yard doesn't have one, and I will miss it a lot. If you can afford it, do it :)
