Morning all, quick question, as title really.

Does anyone use/used a solarium, which one do you or have you used, and are they worth it?

Any stories about using a solarium, experiences etc greatly received, as i've never seen one in action let along used one but am thinking of doing a yard upgrade and getting one and a hot water wash put in.

many thanks :)

P.S. Equine solarium....

I have the basic model from, ahem, don't remember - midlands Equestrian perhaps?
15 x 200 W white light lamps. It is VERY handy especially in cold/wet weather. I use it for drying off horses, warming myself up and giving myself a bit of light therapy when we are lacking sunshine.

We had one where I worked. Very useful for winter baths, clipping, somewhere to tie horses to keep them warm when tacking up, etc. Also used as somewhere to eat lunch in the absolutely freezing cold weather! I thought it was very good, and the liveries seemed to use it a fair bit, too.

Yes daily in winter! It's useful for all the obvious reasons, but I think it's especially invaluable for competing horses - you can give your horse a proper bath before a show even when it's below freezing outside, safe in the knowledge they will dry perfectly & quickly :) I have actually never been at a yard that doesn't have one and don't think I would cope - how can you plait when it's cold cold cold? Don't your fingers actually freeze?
