The mare staying with us atm has solid droppings but she always seems to have "juice" that comes out after she gets the soild out. (sorry about that)
It is on a consistant basis it seems. Any ideas?

How long has she been with you? Has she always done this since she has been with you?

I do know a couple of horses I have had here before used to do similar - usually when their diet changed, or changes in the grass.

She has been with us about two months and I have always observed it. She has has a few diet changes . The first was obviously when she first got here and recently we have been easing her onto summer pasture.

Maybe it's just the rich spring grass?

Ive known a good few 'all year round dribblers' and they have been perfectly healthy. The colon absorbs any remaining water left over from the digestive system and it could be that the 'poo' isnt remaining long enough or maybe the colon isnt giving its all! Im only speaking from experience so its probably a very good idea to ask a vet to put your mind at rest. M.
