Well last weekend I decided to withdraw from the 90 and enter the Novice having never jumped a 1.10 on Herbie but he's a hero so it was all ok.

He went into the ring with his eyes on stalks but popped round the 100 sweetly finding it all abit small, and we did what felt ridiculously fast round the XC part and came home inside the time, double clear with a style penalty of 8. We came 5th and qualified.

Onto the Novice and he warmed up fantastic, really pinging he is just so much better over a bigger fence. He jumped round like a pro even when I nearly buried him in an oxer, went round the XC really smooth, came home with 3 time penalties but full of confidence so I was beaming :D Double clear in our first 1.10 with a style score of 9 and we came 6th :D

So our first JAS experience was an enjoyable one and we will be doing the next one at Solihull :)

He really is my perfect horse and a complete hero to me. Love him so much :)

Thank you all :)

That's great, well done. The JAS final is good fun, enjoy it! :)

Thanks, nice to know the final is good, is there 100's in it?

Blooming marvellous style scores! Well done! Especially at your 1st attempt at the Novice too :) Will you go to the finals then?

Thank you, Herbie makes us for my lack of style haha. Yes I think I ma going to make the trip down to the finals, it's about 2 1/2 hours though so will decide closer to the time :)

Yes, when I did it (3 years ago now... god!) there were hundreds, but back then I was doing 90 and 100, so probably more in those classes. It was also at Addington then, but I suppose Bury Farm is similar :) There will probably be fewer in the Novice! He's such a lovely horse, and his record is amazing, he looks like he'll have a lot more success in the future too!

Well done to you :). It's not easy, and can be something of an acquired skill but it sounds as though you've got it cracked. Good luck with the Open and the Finals. We expect a report!

Gosh, very well done :)

We were there too, my daughter was doing it for the first time, couldn't believe how many fences there were & how quickly you had to go, & that was only the 90!!!!

Great fun though, we'll be going again i hope. Maybe see you at the next Solihull one, she wants to have a go at the 100 next time :)

Thanks. Herbie makes style quite easy as he is pretty good at his job! Thank you, will definitely do a report :)

Really well done, those were two great rounds.

Thank you very much :)

Oh I know, I couldn't believe the amount of fences in there either! I thought I had gone really fast in the 100 and I was only 1 second inside the time! Like you say though it was good fun, hope your daughter had a good day :)

Fab results and style scores! Well done!

Thank you :) x
