Hello all, I am wondering if I could get some help.

After a lot of research, try-ons and saving I have decided I would like the waxed Ariat Bromonts. However the lady in my local tack shop pulled out the waxed chocolate boots and now I can't decide between black and brown!

I have chosen to go with the waxed boot as I prefer the shiny coat (I'm hoping the waxed boot is less maintenance) please if anyone has any advice on the best ways to clean these boots, and care for the suede, that would be great!

The idea was to wear these boots for everyday riding but to scrub up should I need them for shows. (I have a pair of black show boots already but can't bear to wear them everyday they're so uncomfortable). And I am hoping these ones will last a while for the price!

So please if anyone has any advances on which colour to get it would be very much appreciated. Any comments on Ariat boots in general are also welcome.

I love my bromonts but although mine are only 18 months old I have found the zip on one of them has started coming down. My trainer remarked on it and said she's had several clients with the same issue, she'd been told they are now making them in Thailand and the quality is not as good. Just a bit of a warning!!

I have the waxed black and I love them. Have had mine a year and had no issues personally with the zip, and they clean up like new every time I clean them.

Also, I broke on of my boot trees (my clumsiness!) and moaned on twitter, they sent me a replacement!

I've had mine for about 4 1/2 years and love them. Wear them everyday and they scrub up lovely to go showing in! Not had a problem with them yet. I have the black waxed.

Have you contacted them about it? I have heard good and bad things about their customer service. Apparently I will have a 1 year warrantee on the zip from the shop but have heard people get brand new boots in the post because of the wax coating coming off?

Also - what colour did you choose?

Thank you this is really good help!

I have black and brown. Black are 4 / 5 years old and are still fab. Had to replace a zip in one but used every day. I've had the brown ones about 18 months, much nicer in terms of quality and appearance. I use them when I compete and also lessons (as they live in the lorry)

Love both pairs.

I have the waxed chocolate for comps and love them, so comfy and they wear very well, even despite my dearest horse standing on my boots! I just wash them off with sponge and then put a leather conditioner on them to keep them supple :)
