Had to rush one of mine to the vet this morning. Absolutely no idea whats wrong, didnt want to get up, wouldnt go outside, showed no interest in going out with the others for a walk, seems uncomfortable behind. In some ways she is showing similar symptoms to my little Soph who had something wrong with her spleen and passed away really suddenly. I have left her there and they will be doing bloods, xrays and whatever tests needed, am worried but trying not to panic so the famous H&H vibes would be appreciated x

Thanks all. Just been to collect her. Shes very groggy but she has had pain relief and Im told thats a normal reaction. Nothing concrete found, some gas in her tummy so she has some medicine for that. Ive also been given some further pain relief as they think it most likely that she has tweaked something in one of her legs, a slight concern that it could be early onset of arthritis so I have to keep her medicated until Monday and if once we stop she is no better we have to go back then for further tests. Fingers crossed it is nothing more sinister. Why oh why cant they talk!!

Hopefully only a tweak. Mine did the same this week, panicked me no end.

The vet at the RVc gave me a good tip: stand the dog up, supported if necessary. Turn the hind toes over: if the dog is unable to right himself and place the paw flat on the floor, then it may be neurological. It's not a substitute for a proper vet visit, but may be a quick reassurance for such situations.

Little update: she is a bit brighter this morning, still didnt want to get up for her walk but when she realised the others had gone without her she went to the gate and cried so we took her for a short walk on her own. Taking her meds ok and growled at the jrt when he tried to play with her tail, so more like herself. Still keeping a close eye but hopefully, panic over. Thanks for the tip CT, it can be difficult to know when to panic and when not to bother :)
