some experiences please??

my boy has just been diagnosed with significant damage to both his hind suspensories vet reckons general wear and tear from his racing days

i was just wandering what people experiences are from this type of injury?

what treatment did your horse have?
how long was recovery?
did they beat the odds the vet gave?
have they returned to full work?

i know every horse is different, my boy is currently having a course of shockwave therapy and box rest, although so far all he has done is run circles around his box - im hoping he will settle eventually.

what are people experiences of shockwave therapy?
has anyone used microvet?? and what are your experiences with it??

thanks in advance for any comments and if theres any spare healing vibes going please send them his way, other than trying to kick the vet he has been a good patient so far!

H Im waiting on call from vet and insurance to begin treatment.I have 5yr old who has been promlematic to back .Turns out was lame on 3 legs.Front feet now have gel pads and susp will treated with shockwave prp and nureoctomy.Mine is out on restricted turnout and behaving well.He will come in once he has surgery

We had a lovely 4 year old racehorse who had serious tears in both hind suspensories - often caused from jumping off the bottom of a gallop and also coming out of the stalls. He had box rest, game ready ice compression treament to reduce heat and swelling laser to reduce scar tissue and shockwave. Came sound, slowly built up his work from in hand to using our 80' walker and went back into training and won three races and several placings! He should mend well but take it slowly and be sensible!
