Got a last minute call that we can take Vivaldi to the Futurity tomorrow. We were on the waiting list and didnt think we'd make it, so he was living out with the other babies.
So this evening he and mum have been dragged in, mare is plaited (well kind of - she has the thickest mane knonw to man kind), foal is sort ot trimmed, and needs his legs washing tomorrow and plaiting once we get there.
No idea if he will load in the morning, and we;ve never had mum on the lorry before either.
So if by some miracle we get there in one piece and vaguely presentable I hope the evaluators like him. he's a really cheeky boy but I love his dam and really want to know what they think of him so I can compare that to the other colt.

We're in at 8.15 if anyone wants to come and laugh at us

Good luck!

I'm sure he and mum will both surprise you and be reasonably lovely

I will be there around 10ish, but I suspect you'll be gone by then?

Off out to plait the mare now, I reckon her mane will rival your mare's... tis tres THICK after being hogged for the past umpteen years, coupled with the fact that I can't plait!

Well oriana is sold, and we'll hopefully take her to ZfDP grading instead, and with Orange sold as well, I really wanted feedback on how Venezia is producing. I know what I think are his string and weak points but I want to see if the evaluators see the same things as me.
I think he's got a cracking topline, correct limbs, and lots of suspension, but I think he needs more ground cover and reach if I;m being fussy. He's just maturing so nicely I thought it was a shame not to get him out. But I always get really nervous that the evaluators will hate my foals and tell me I am breeding donkeys !

Arwen - we did two last year, so whats one more. LOL Having been showing at Peterborough Friday and Saturday, I am starting to wonder if I am slightly insane especially as I have to get up before 4 to do the yard before we leave, and when we get back I have to deliver a pony to the BSPS Champs.

Best of luck - though I'm sure you won't need it as I'm betting you're your own worst critic! "Breeding donkeys" indeed!!!

I've seen the pics and know that your foals are all stunning.

Look forward to hearing of your success.
