Flat races-
The Epsom Derby
The king George VI stakes
The Prix de l'Arc d'Triomphe
The Hong Kong Vase
The Irish Derby
The 2000 Guineas
The Prix de Jockey club
The Breeders Cup Classic
The Preakness stakes

Jump Races

The Grand National
Cheltenham Gold Cup
Irish and Scottish Grand National

I am terrible cannot think of any more jump races!

There is one more big flat race in the USA that forms the big 3 along with the Preakness and the Breeders cup- cant remember its name!

Dead horses over the past year-
George Washington- went to stud, was infertile, went back into racing, broke a leg
Barbaro- broke a leg
Granite Jack- heart attack
Another grey horse , very famous, have got a memory block..

Some horses who have died:

Nil Desperandum (Think it was in Welsh National, but not sure)
Little Brick (Cheltenham)
Swift Thyne (Cheltenham)
Detroit City

Go to racehorsedeathwatch - do a search. It isnt a site I like or support, but it may be useful to you!

The Cesarewitch Handicap held over the Flat 2m 2f at Newmarket in October each year, apparently a gruelling long race (but don't quote me

My TB on the left in middle (well 3rd one!) picture with Wonderhorse aboard, ran it twice
