The little racehorse I have had in on box rest for 2 months, he had already done 2 months elsewhere, is going out today, he is currently relaxing, I hope, having had ACP in his second breakfast. If it works he will be going down to join a quiet pony on plenty of fresh grass and stay out to finish healing.

His feet which were awful when he arrived have improved beyond all recognition, thanks to everyone who made suggestions, he now has frogs and really tough concave soles which I hope will stay in good shape while he is out.

So a few vibes for him, some for me on the walk down the field would also be very welcome.

An update later, if I survive :D

Good luck, it sometimes helps if they're a bit hungry too so they put their head down at the novelty of grass.

Thanks, he has had 2 very tiny feeds just enough to keep him quiet and get the ACP down, slightly less hay last night although I did feel mean as it was so cold, he is desperate for grass so hoping that it will be all he thinks about:D

If he is anything like my TB he will be so glad to see some grass the last thing on hs mind will be hooning around...good luck with walking him down though!

Well it went ok, he had a double dose of ACP as the first lot didn't seem to touch him. Walked down the 100 yards to the field really quietly, I think it helped that he had no idea where he was going, let go, ran off, fell over:eek:, got up and looking a bit sheepish wandered off for some grass:)

He is so sweet after about 10 minutes he came back to me, had a treat and a fuss, I even managed to feel his legs, all looking great so left him in peace, popping down later to rug him as I felt it best to turnout without one initially.

One less to muck out in the morning:D:D
