thanks for that link, really enjoyed reading it, lots of insights into what's really gone on. i particularly liked:

"I heard a bit of a dressage funny from another journalist yesterday. The much-publicized spook of Satchmo at the jumbo screen during training apparently happened, coincidentally, at the moment that an image of Anky holding up a gold medal popped up."

Ah - cheers.

So do I take it that there has been a lot of complaining about the scoring - or is it just rumour?

She's Canadian but writes quite a bit of international stuff as well. Very well respected.

In another thread there is a link to Will Connell's blog in which he mentions a dressage "problem" requiring some sort of "secret" meeting but doesn't elaborate or say if there is an actual protest in the works. Judging from what Karen reports (fairly good source in a member of the Ground Jury) it's all blown over without follow up and everyone is moving on. I would think if there was something that would affect today it would have been resolved by now but then again, these things have been known to drag on.

As far as head scratching over the scores . . . well, that's pretty par for the course, isn't it? Same as gymnastics and figure skating, rumour and innuendo over favourites and bias seem to almost always be part of the game.
