I think it might have. It didnt hurt too bad, then it went really gross and ikky :X, then the skin went tough and a funny yellow colour. put Tea Tree oil on it 2 nights ago and the skin came off..............u could see like these white bits underneath! Now it stings as its raw and I had to wear makeup at work today as we had a whole bunch of students arriving and I was no way going out with it showing!

I've now got Tea Tree cream on it as cant find my Zinc cream which seems to cure everything!

Tea tree oil is a very strong oil and should never be applied to the skin neat (it is strong enough neat to remove warts!) so you may have contributed to this by using the oil. Aloe vera gel is your best product for now - it will reduce any potential scarring

Just to clarify. You can put tea tree oil on neat (the only other one you can use neat is lavender). However it does sting on open wounds so dilute it with a little warm water and bathe it with that.

If you want a good healing remedy try calendula ointment rather than tea tree. The tea tree will anaesthatise and kill off infection but calendula is more soothing and will encourage the skin to heal.

Oh and if you can bear to keep make up off it I would!

Doesnt aloe vera sting on open wounds? If i were you i would go to a homeopathic shop and get something for that so it doesnt scar. a friend of mine had a cigarette stubbed out in her face and homeopathic creams stopped the scarring

It was the hoof shield. I know, I asked a few peeps and they have never had a reaction. But then some days washing powder can make me come out in a rash.

Its a LOT better today. No make-up, also stopped using conditioner on my hair as that made it itchy.

Just to clarify: I am ASSUMING it was the Keratex as the sores came up where it came into contact with my face. It has in no way been clarified by a doctor!
