Seeing how many people on here tell us about people being 'unhelpful' etc I thought I'd post the opposite type of post.

On Sunday we were competing (Went very well -Second in Hand and 6th Ridden - we did a cruddy show and it was a class of 32 so quite pleased!!!!)
and were off the yard at 6.30am... we left the place in a bit of a mess to be honest as we were in a mad rush as Murph had pooed down his back legs so needed re bathing!

Anyhow, when we got back hot and tired, the yard was tidied, the muck heap was straightened, all the horses were mucked out, the haynets and feeds were done, the paddocks were poo picked and the hayshed and tack room tidied... Our fabulous livery had done it all... when I rang her to thank her (and tell her she was very naughty) she just told me she was bored... All this, and she couldn't go to the show cos her horsey is currently lame...

Some people may be a pain in the bottom, but some are simply wonderful...

Lovely to read such a positive post about your livery. She obviously enjoyed doing it and wanted to help. Hope her horse is on the mend?

Keep her!! But that reflects well on you as well - I would do anything for my yard owner/manager/fellow liveries because they're such great people and are so helpful to me. I'm sure she feels the same way - she'd hardly have put all the effort in if she didn't think you were awesome!! :)

I had an incident with the boy yesterday and yard manager was on hand, checked I was ok, helped me out afterwards, texted me last night/today to let me know how he is/check I was ok again. And all the liveries went to her hunt's hunter trials on sunday to fence judge, and we got the nicest texts from her yesterday to say thank you, really touching!

The actual yard owner's birthday was on Friday, I've only been at the yard for 6 weeks but was invited out with everyone else, had a great night - feel like I've been there forever.

You must be making your livery feel the same way, so be proud of yourself as well as thankful to her!

Agreed - not a YO/YM 'non-rant' but a farrier 'non-rant' :)
After my p/l girl got diagnosed with cushings and pedal bone rotation, we were understandably pretty crushed. At the peak of her lameness, the farrier was going down to our yard every night around 7pm to check her - not doing anything just checking how she was doing and to give us a progress text :) making sure we understood everything he was doing and what he was trying to achieve with her - she is now coming sound and I solely believe that we have him to thank for 80% of it.

Also, Kelly's owner - she allows me to go down to see Kelly every day when I am home from uni and has also allowed me to ride her other horse regularly too whilst Kelly has been poorly. She won't let me give financial contribution anymore so I have to try and get things like food etc just to give something! :)
