I have said before that our yard is kinda split into two groups. Well one half of them are no it all's and are just not nice people to talk to so we dont bother and then there is me and a few friends (7 to be precise (SP?) and we have now been called the A team by the rest of the yard which me and the girls find rather funny, but quite petty!

Any pettyness go on where you are?

There's always pettiness and yard politics in livery yards.

We have a 'top block' where YO has put most of the b'tchy girls, so that the rest of us can watch them self-destruct from a distance.

Ha ha
We have a very strange mix of folk at our yard:
Full Liveries - very posh and only occasionally deign to speak to us scabby lot in DIY
Part Liveries - not quite posh enough for Full Livery, nor practical enough for DIY. Some knowledgeable types, but most really don't have a clue.
DIY - hilarious mix of know-it-alls (who know very little), giggly girls who are very happy to admit they don't have a clue, RDA types, and a couple of us who want to come up and see and ride and take care of our horses and have a bit of a laugh while we're doing it.
Then there's the staff, who are just as insane as the rest of us. I tell you, we could write a book...

Love that fairhill

No pettyness or agro on my yard - it's just me and OH cos we own it!! I am always so relieved reading these posts that I no longer have to go on livery.

Years ago (and I am talking about 35 years!) we were liveries at Caldecote Farm and all the "in" horses and people were on a yard called the U Yard (because it was U shaped. The nicest horses and the most civilised people were on the front yard. We never made it to the U yard or the front yard and were a permanent fixture on the sand paddock yard which was for every day types.

our yard is ok to considering it consists mainly of teenage girls and another one moving in at the weekend. in fact one of them is downright rude to the YO and i dont know why she puts up with it!

I'm on a lovely livery yard with lots of friendly people, a competant and nice YM and YO and pretty much no grief whatsoever!

How good is that, especially as I'm not one to shy away from arguements. Have been on some unbelieveable yards where there is a serious heirarchy among the liveries and its usually the YOs fault in my experience.

Bitchiness, pettyness, backstabbing, stealing, taking advantage of nice people, not following rules, all on a horsey yard, surely not.

Nearly 15 years ago I moved to a farm where there was me and another lady, who was very reliable and looked after her horse so very well, however 7 1/2 years ago she gave up so the other stable became vacant, and I was so worried about who the other livery would be I decided 'I' would be the other livery so stupid me took on a TB Ex Flat Racer as a companion to my old boy ..... I love him to bits, but he will never replace my old boy
