Some preliminary research - grazing Yorkshire

Hiya, having just bought new young horse in Feb, I am now looking for an even more extreme life change next year. I am trying to get a place working for the North Yorkshire Fire Service. If Im successful it means being on call quite a lot of the time, which would mean I need a place for my horse within 1 mile of the fire station.

Does anyone here come from Tadcaster, Malton, Richmond, Ripon, Northallerton, Whitby or Selby? Do you know if there is much grazing land available very close to the centre of these towns? just trying to get an idea of what my chances are, as I want ot do everything myself. I dont really want to have to put him on livery as it would be for 4 solid days and then id get to spend 4 days with him.

Not sure about some of the further out areas but grazing land in/around York & Selby is a bit like golddust - and pretty expensive.

There are some yards that do grass livery though, that might be an option for you?
